Merum Priorati 'Inici' Priorat 2022
A big, bold red from Priorat which is a Garnacha-based blend, with touches of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carinena added to the mix. A rich and intense aroma of black cherry, liquorice and toasty oak. Ripe plum, rosemary and vanilla characteristics on the poised palate, but smooth, and the powerful tannins are present but well-integrated. Notes of leather and spice on the finish. Great matched with slow-cooked shoulder of lamb, or rabbit braised with olive and herbs. This is a substantial wine and needs substantial fare to match!
