Monte del Frà 'Scarnocchio' Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva 2017
The Amarone Scarnocchio comes from the highest and longest-lasting vineyard of Lena di Mezzo. The Scarnocchio terroir translates into this complex Amarone Riserva, rich in balsamic mountain pine notes. This is a dry, ruby red wine that offers cherries on the nose, plums and liquorice; spices such as pepper and cinnamon; hints of undergrowth. Extremely elegant, well-balanced and velvety, at the same time robust and complex, dry, full-bodied, generous and austere. Try with braised beef short ribs in a sweet, sticky sauce. Also try with good quality dark chocolate.
