M.Chapoutier Schieferkopf Lieu-dit Fels Riesling 2019
A smoky, racy Riesling from Alsace. The wine is aged for 15 months in big casks with malolactic fermentation with prolonged ageing on lees to help soften the acidity and provide texture. Elegant aromas of lime zest, white peach, and green apple are layered with delicate floral notes and a distinct flinty minerality. Tense and focused on the palate, delivering vibrant citrus and stone fruit flavors underscored by a racy acidity. A pronounced mineral core runs through, giving the wine precision and drive, while the finish is long, saline, and mouthwatering. Try with sushi, oysters, trout or Alsatian tarte flambée.
